Roadworks and Travel Disruptions

LASTEST UPDATE (12 March): Please be aware that trains running between Barnstaple and Exeter serving Eggesford Station will be replaced by buses 21-27 March and a revised service will be in operation. Please consult gwr.com/check for specific times.

From/To the North

No known road disruptions between the hotel and Barnstaple or the M5.

From/To the North

Disruption 7pm-6am. 

M5 / Tiverton Traffic

Traffic to and from the M5 and Tiverton should AVOID travel via South Molton 11-14 March due to roadworks on the A377 just North of the hotel. It is recommended to follow the normal SatNav/map app route which will normally direct you cross country between Tiverton and the hotel, via Chawleigh. 

Barnstaple Traffic

Traffic to and from Barnstaple will be affected by closures 11-14 March between 7pm and 6am. Travellers should plan to follow the detour posted below turning off the A377 via Chulmleigh and Chawleigh. This will add 6-7 minutes travel time to your journey. 

From/To the South

No known significant disruptions between the hotel and Exeter currently.

EXPECTED DISRUPTION: 12-16 MAY 2026, 19:00-06:00

We are advised that between 12 and 16 May inclusive, the A377 south of Eggesford Station will close overnight between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00. We believe that the diversion will be from Lapford via Chawleigh, adding about 10 minutes to journey times towards Exeter. We hope to have more information closer to the date and will provide a map showing the diversion, once we have the relevant information.

Getting Here by Train
