Riding Lessons & Treks
Horse riding is a popular pastime in Devon and there are several riding schools and stables within easy reach of the hotel. It’s a great way to enjoy the Devon countryside, whether you’re trekking through the forests of mid-Devon or the coastlines and dunes in the north.
COLLACOT
Collacott Riding School
A BHS approved riding school 15 minutes north of the hotel. They offer private and group lessons as well as 1 to 3 hour hacks. More details, pricing and booking information is available on their website.
CREDITON
Hunterswood Riding School
Based near Crediton, about 25 minutes from the hotel, Hunterwood offers riding lessons for all age groups and levels of experience, with a particular focus on young riders. They can be contacted through their Facebook page.
BEAWORTHY
Garlands Farm
Half an hour east of the hotel, Garlands Farm Trekking and Horse Riding Centre offers forestry trekking and horse riding lessons for all ages and all abilities by a BHS and UKCC Qualified trainer. Garlands Farm even does Pony Parties for the little ones! (minimum 6 riders). Details and booking are available on their website.

Follyfoot Equestrian Centre

WOOLACOMBE
Woolacombe Riding Stable
This North Devon based school is about an hour away but definitely worth the time, especially if you’re in that area. They offer great treks along the coastline or on the dunes, as well as combination lessons with treks. They do have some riding restrictions, so please check their website for details.
