Guest Safety
Guest safety is of paramount importance to us and all staff are trained in emergency procedures. We have an L1 addressable fire alarm system with 24 hour monitoring and conduct daily, weekly and monthly inspections of our systems with bi-annual external inspections from certified providers.
Fire Alarm Testing
The Fire Alarm is tested weekly on Tuesdays between 10:30 and 12:30. During this time, the alarm will sound for 10 to 15 seconds. Notices are displayed the morning of the test and we will try to alert any in-house guests just before the test begins.
You do not need to evacuate the building during the test.
If you Discover a Fire
On discovering a fire:
- Sound the alarm by activating the nearest call point
- Exit the building immediately
- Call emergency services (999)
- Assemble at the Assembly Point in the car park
- Do not stop to collect personal belongings
- You should not attempt to tackle the fire unless you are certain there is no danger and you have received training to use fire extinguishers
- Do not leave the Assembly Point or attempt to re-enter the building unless instructed by the fire marshal or emergency service
- Call points are located at all emergency exits and along exit routes (see Call Points map – PDF)
Hearing the Fire Alarm
On hearing the fire alarm:
- Exit the building immediately
- Assemble at the Assembly Point in the car park
- Do not stop to collect personal belongings
- Do not leave the Assembly Point or attempt to re-enter the building unless instructed by the fire marshal or emergency service
Evacuation Route
An emergency evacuation route diagram is posted near the door of every guest room illustrating the best route for each room of the hotel.
The hotel Assembly Point is located in the main car park, under the large tree with the Assembly Point sign.
Treehouse
The Treehouse is not connected to the hotel’s fire alarm and has its own smoke detectors installed. If you discover a fire or hear the alarm, you should evacuate immediately via the main stairs, call emergency services and report to reception.
During out of hours, please call the Emergency Out of Hours number 07487 539237 and report to the Night Manager.
Questions or Concerns
Any safety concerns should be addressed to the on-duty fire marshal who can be identified by asking at reception. There is a qualified fire marshal on premises at all times, including our on-site out of hours Night Manager.
If you have any conditions that might affect your ability to evacuate the building swiftly, please bring them to our attention so that we can make suitable plans and arrangements.
