Getting Here By Car
Most Satnav systems including Google Maps and Waze do a good job of finding the hotel, from the hotel name and from the post code.
For those travelling South on the M5, most systems will try to take you cross country down small Devon lanes after passing through Tiverton. While the direct route is faster, if you want to avoid the narrow, windy lanes at the end of a long drive, you may prefer to follow the A361 from Junction 27 right into South Molton, rather than cutting across. Your satnav should update to take you down the B3226 and then onto the A377 to the hotel. Most staff and locals do follow the cross country route that nav systems suggest as it’s at least 10 minutes faster, but the narrow Devon lanes aren’t everyone’s cup of tea!
From Plymouth, the most direct route suggested by Google Maps is about 1 hour and 20 minutes, however the suggested route from Okehampton to the hotel is via small country roads. For an easier drive that adds about 10 minutes to the journey, stay on the A386 until you pass Folly Gate, then turn right onto the A3072 and follow it to Copplestone, where you can turn left onto the A377 for a direct run to the hotel.
From Exeter, take the A377 towards Barnstable for an easy 40 minutes dive via Crediton to the hotel.

Getting Here By Train
The hotel is situated just a few minutes walk from Eggesford Train Station on the Tarka Line that runs between Exeter and Barnstaple. It is a 40 minute journey from Exeter St Davids to Eggesford and train times from Paddington, London to Eggesford can be as little as 3 hours and 15 minutes.
It is a simple, relaxing way to travel to the hotel followed by a few minutes walk. Please be aware that the walk is along the A377 with a very narrow verge, so please take care while walking, especially if you have children or dogs with you. A taxi service is available, but they charge a minimum of £10 for what amounts to a 20 second drive. Please also be aware that there are no shops or amenities in the immediate area, so if you want to get out and explore, driving is advised.
