We are seeking a Shift Manager with a specialty in bar management. Working as part of a team of Shift Managers, you will be responsible for the delivery of front of house services during the period of your shift, including meal service, light reception duties and bar management. This is a fulltime, permanent position and may include both day time and evening shifts. 

Reporting to the General Manager and overseeing a team of front of house staff, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in hospitality with bar and dining facilities with at least two years in a management role. A knowledge of wines is desirable as is knowledge of managing a commercial cellar and dealing with suppliers.

Bar and coffee shop related duties may include, but not limited to:

• Serving alcohol, bar drinks, coffee and café drinks
• Line cleaning and cellar maintenance
• Stock taking and ordering from suppliers
• Cleaning bar and coffee equipment and areas
• Bar and café training of junior staff

Meal services duties, for meals that fall within your active shift, include:

• Setup and clearing tables
• Greeting and seating
• Order taking
• Kitchen liaison
• Serving
• Billing & final settlement
• Meal service training

Light reception duties and hotel guest interactions, include:

• Check In/Check Out
• Dealing with guest enquiries
• Answering phones and returning voicemails
• Processing and replying to emails
• Simple bookings
• Creating dining, evacuation and housekeeping lists
• End of day cash up

Training will be provided for our specific systems and for any aspect of the job in which the candidate has limited experience. During the majority of times, a senior member of staff will be available for the escalation of severe issues, and may even be working with you, however the day to day decisions made during the shift shall be your responsibility.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and we are willing to discuss flexible package and compensation for the right candidate.
