They say that practice makes perfect and this beautiful silver salmon certainly seems to prove the point. Hotel fishing guide Anthony Willmington put his day off to good use, landing this amazing 13lb salmon on the River Torridge on Monday evening.
Just time for a quick picture before releasing the beast to continue its upstream journey to the spawning grounds.
The River Torridge is better known for its returns of salmon and sea trout than the smaller River Taw, but you’re unlikely to get the double digit days that you do targeting brown trout. Still, there’s nothing to stop you from booking a day on the Torridge to go after salmon and sea trout, followed by a relaxing day on the Taw targeting the smaller but more numerous brown trout.
