Please note that due to restrictions of the online booking software, the system will allow you to book an Afternoon Tea within 24 hours and Dinner reservations within 2 hours, however we are unlikely to be able to accommodate these requests.

BUFFET BREAKFAST

Breakfast

Breakfast is served daily from 08:00 – 09:45 and open to the public as well as hotel guests. Enjoy an open hot and cold buffet with everything for a superb full English including options for Vegetarians and Vegans.

TABLE & PATIO DINING

Lunch

Served daily between noon and 3:00pm Monday to Saturday (Carvery on Sundays), our lunch menu includes everything from light bites, sandwiches and paninis to more substantial main courses, including our popular all day breakfast options. Eat in the dining room or al fresco on the patio or gardens.

As a venue for weddings and private functions, we are very occasionally closed for lunch, and reservations are always recommended.

SUNDAY LUNCH

Carvery

Since reintroducing our Sunday Carvery, its reputation has continued to grow and we now enjoy full seatings most Sundays (12:30-14:30). With a minimum of three meats and options to suit Vegans and Vegetarians, your choice for Sunday lunch has never been so easy!

GOOD FOOD - CASUAL DINING

Dinner at The Heywood Restaurant

Enjoy good food, freshly prepared by our team of dedicated chefs led by Head Chef, James Nightingale. James returns from years honing his skills as head chef aboard some of the worlds largest mega-yachts to raise his new family and make the Heywood Restaurant a destination for those who appreciate good food. Seatings for dinner are available daily between 18:00 and 20:30.

TRADITIONAL

Cream Tea & Afternoon Tea

Traditional Devon Cream Tea is £7.50/person and is served daily in the dining room or on the terrace between 12:00 and 15:30 daily except Sunday.

Afternoon Tea is £19.50/person and is also served between 12:00 and 15:30 daily except Sunday. Please note that 24 hours notice is required for Afternoon Tea.

Cream Tea can be Gluten Free on request, but not Dairy Free.
Afternoon Tea can be Gluten Free on request and Dairy Free, except scones.

ALL DAY CAFE

Coffee

Drop in for a coffee and cake, or pick up a coffee to take away for your journey. We’re open all day from 8:00am to 23:00 so whether it’s a coffee morning with friends, afternoon tea, or a cup of hot chocolate before bed, we’re here to serve you seven days a week. Bring the dogs and children and afterwards enjoy a walk around our gardens and by the river.

DOGS IN DINING AREAS

We permit well behaved dogs in all dining areas, for all meals.

We understand that allowing dogs in restaurants is not for everyone. If you prefer to be seated away from dogs, please let us know as early as possible and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request. If you’re completely against the idea, we want to give plenty of warning to allow you to make an informed choice, and understand if you prefer to make alternate dining arrangements.

Please note that gratuities are at guest’s discretion, however a 12.5% service charge (optional) is automatically applied for group bookings (10+ people) and special events.
